Our story
Dooth means messenger.
ദൂത്, in Malayalam. Someone who carries a thing from one person to another and makes sure it arrives. That is the whole job.
We started this because the gifts we sent home from other cities kept arriving as somebody else's idea of a gift. A fruit basket. A hamper from a catalogue with a company's logo on it. Something that said "I ordered this" more than it said "I thought of you".
What we wanted to send was simpler: the things we would carry back in a suitcase ourselves, the chocolate from the place down the road, the tea from the hills, the halwa from the city our mother is from. In a box that was plainly for one person, with their name on it, and a card that sounded like us. And then to know it had reached them.
So we built that. A small studio outside Kochi where the cards are printed and the boxes are packed by hand, a catalogue of things made by small producers in Kerala, and a way to send a box to any address in India and see a photo of it before it leaves.
The name came first. Dooth AI began as a card you could design with a little help and post to someone. The box is what the card grew into.

What we promise
Their name, not our logo
The lid carries the name of the person it is for. Our name is on the note inside and nowhere else.
Packed by hand
Every box is packed by a person, tied with real satin ribbon, and photographed before it leaves.
You see it first
The card before it is printed, the box before it ships. Nothing goes out that you have not said yes to.
Small producers, named by place
Chocolate from Kalady, tea from Munnar, halwa from Kozhikode. Sealed, and each with a note that says where it is from.
